Saw some nice Deadrise boats on the Chester River this weekend. I was heading to Chestertown for the weekend and planned to stay at the docks in front of the Fish Whistle. That was not happening – they are building new floating docks and the place was shut down. So I needed up back tracking to Rolphs Wharf and Marina – home of the infamous Sand Bar. I fueled up, and decided to stay the night on thier dock. Sandy, the caretaker of the inn there, was very nice and offered to let me use her car to get into Chestertown for an event. It looks like a really nice boat yard.

These are two shots from the Merryman.

I saw several Deadrise boats, and took pictures this pair. Love the lines of the dark hull. If it weren’t a rainy day after a hard night, I’d have taken a closer look.
