October, 2018Dear Captain, Thank you for subscribing to the DeadriseMarket newsletter. You either subscribed or registered to use the site. If you’d like to not get email, please unsubscribe below. We’ll try to send out an edition each month, or if we get a nice boat added to the site. If you’d like to contribute stories, please send them in. My story goes, I was a huge fan of Deadrise4sale.com. When it went offline I was a little lost for a destination online for my deadrise fix, so with some encouragement from friends, I launched Deadrisemarket.com. I have a 1977 37ft Deadrise called the Merryman. It was formerly the Anita Mae of the Rappahanock. The DeadriseMarket logo is a side view of the Merryman. This is the Merryman in Baltimore where she’s berthed. She’s out almost every night in the Baltimore Harbor and Patapsco River. ![]() In any the event. The website is mostly self-serve. I’ll moderate it, but it will be driven by people who love Deadrise boats like me. I hope it grows and you’ll enjoy the site. Please spread the word. ![]() Rich Wiklund, a.k.a. ![]() Heading South toward Tilghman Island. The bench seat in this photo is made from IPE wood – also called Brazilian Walnut. It’s extremely hard wood.
Looking out the back at about 12-14 knots. The Bay was flat.
Final destination was my friend TP’s dock that is south of Tilghman on the Little Choptank by Timber Point. Trip to Tilghman Island.I took the Merryman to Tilghman Island in August, and followed the historical ship John W. Brown down the Bay. She’s quite a site. Each time her prop went around, spray flew up from the water. It took about 3.5 hours and 30-40 gallons of fuel. Merryman has a 3208 CAT, and weighs about 9 tons. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Products we love…just bought my 22-year-old son some Xtratuf boots for his birthday…he’s in now in the club.
