November, 2018Dear Captain, I’m happy to say we are gaining traction and have over 20 postings. We had some technical issues with the site that have been resolved by my developer. So if you had any issues, it should be fine now. I’m even happier to say we have our first “sold” boat – Sable – the 32′ Chesapeake Marine Industries Waverley Island Deadrise. We appreciate the postings and please spread the word. I also see a lot of folks advertising on Craigslist and on Facebook on the site called Chesapeake Bay Built Deadrise Boats 4 Sale. These are great resources.
![]() The Merryman was out of commission for a while – the bracket that connected the hydraulic steering to the rudder shaft was corroded and finally cracked on me. I had a local machine shop create a new part and it’s perfect. You can see more about that here on the Captain’s Log – “Well that’s a problem“. Very happy with the new part, and had a back-up made withe a 3ft tiller so I can steer the boat if I have another problem with the bracket or with the steering. As we head into the Winter – I’m looking forward to the Baltimore Parade of Boats in December and hope to get the Merryman dressed out for that. ![]() Rich Wiklund, a.k.a.
