Thanksgiving, 2018Dear Captain, Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone had a safe holiday. An unexpected benefit of Deadrisemarket.com is the opportunity to interact with the owners of these great boats, and with Bruce Blackway, a model builder on the Eastern Shore who is featured in this month’s PropTalk. Pete Kucera is selling the Mobjaxon. I had I think we all can appreciate a great dog like Jaxon and a great boat like Mobjaxon. Pete shared some photos… Pete just bought the last Rollins built deadrise sport fisherman from Dave Rollins, Billy’s son. She’s a beauty…28′ with 11′ beam powered by a 260 hp Volvo turbocharged diesel with a duo prop outdrive. He’s motivated to sell Mobjaxon and just posted on the Deadrisemarket.com: HOLIDAYS SPECIAL!!! I have reduced the asking price If you know of anyone looking for a great boat – please spread the word. Have a story about your boat? Let me know and we’ll feature it in the newsletter. Our friend Bruce Blackway is featured in the December issue of PropTalk. It’s a great article about Bruce, his wife Jill, and his business Blackway Boat Models. I hope Santa brings me a Hardtop Workboat. What a great looking model! ![]() Bruce told me he’s had his eye on Parker boats for quite some time now. He said “they are new, fiberglass (minimum maintenance, not wood), sturdy, well-regarded boats with a front mini cabin that sorta makes them look like old time wooden deadrises.” While on vacation in Europe, he cooked up a plan for a new Parker and recently signed an agreement with Tri-State Marine (Parker dealer in Deale) for a new Parker 2320 (23’) with 300 HP Yamaha. Good job Bruce! I’m certain you’re going to enjoy that Parker. Bruce and Jill go to the boat shows, so if you see him – say hello! ![]() Rich Wiklund, a.k.a.
